Emerging Trends Among New Age Practitioners
For ten years I have watched many high-ticket courses and programs target psychics, healers, yoga teachers/studios, holistic health providers, and life coaches. The message is often the same: learn how to upsell, create passive-income streams/courses, sales funnels, build an email list with free offers, implement ‘proven marketing strategies’, post unendingly to social media, and attract wealthier clients through premium retreats and programs. None of these concepts are new, but what was once considered niche has become incredibly mainstream over the last decade.
For example, over ten years there’s a growing niche of Life/Business Coaches, and psychc mediums, who market their polished, formulaic services to aspiring well-off Life Coaches or intuitive practioners, promising strategies for attracting six-figure clients or a booming business. Many of these programs and “one-on-one mentorships” come with price tags of $5,000 to $15,000 or more. But the failure rate is staggering. Almost always the only people who do well are the teachers and mentors.
Before you sign up for anything, make sure you’re comfortable now and in two years with the possibility that you may not ever earn back your investment financially. Expensive courses and programs often only work for someone very established already and the person who is teaching it.
You can often spot the popular marketing strategies on an intuitive practitioner’s website. There is nothing inherently right or wrong about them; they are simply business choices. If they help your business grow and move forward, then that’s a wonderful thing.
I have worked with quite a few clients who have regrettably invested thousands of dollars in coaches, courses, and marketing programs, hoping to grow a new or existing business. After carefully and correctly inplementing what they learned, some saw little to no return on their investment, and, in certain cases, the strategies even discouraged potential clients.
Years ago, I knew a great Business Psychic reader who charged $497 for a 30-minute session and $997 for a 60-minutes. She was sincere, worked in full integrity, and had many happy CEO and business clients who referred others to her. Because her business was focused on affluent clients, she saw her pricing as a simple business decision and felt completely aligned with it. But that was her career journey at the time: it has rarely been duplicated by anyone even though she still skillfully teaches higher-ticket, refined courses to thousands of people.
My view is that if you have the extra cash and the class, courses, or business gurus genuinely helped you immensely emotionally, mentally, or spiritually, then it was worth spending the money and taking part.

When Life Intervenes: Navigating Challenges as a Psychic or Practitioner
One challenge for a psychic medium or New Age practitioner is that the abundance of conflicting advice, combined with the wide range of service rates in your area, can make it difficult for practitioners to know what will genuinely help them attract clients and grow their business; while remaining in integrity and staying true to the reasons they began this work in the first place … Another challenge is when life gets difficult on top of this.
Over the past few months, I’ve chosen to become even more present and engaged in my own full-time psychic medium business after spending five years caring for my mother with dementia and then navigating her passing.
That experience reminded me of the importance of moving forward at a pace that feels right while staying grounded in what truly matters.
Caring for my mother without additional support sometimes meant having to reschedule reading appointments when emergencies arose. Even when the reasons were completely valid, I knew it could be difficult for clients, and a turn off to a few; that I had not experienced before because the situation was unprecedented. Through it all, my readings remained a place of light and happiness for me.
Regardless of what was happening in my personal life, I could always meditate, connect, and be fully present with my clients. I’m deeply grateful to do work that I genuinely love. With this chapter now behind me, I look ahead with an open heart, a sense of freedom, and excitement for all that is to come.
If you’ve faced challenges or loss in recent years, this may be the perfect time to clean out your emotional wounds and welcome new beginnings. Difficult seasons are part of life’s journey, but they do not define who we are or limit our potential for success, growth, or fulfillment.

My Best Advice to an Intuitive Practitioner to Stay Positive and Grounded
My best advice is to move forward slowly, steadily, and with a positive mindset. Don’t get caught up in where others are on their journey or whether they deserve their success or lack of success. Stay in your own lane, remain true to your values, and operate with integrity. Most clients will be drawn to those who resonate with them.
Most importantly: always be honest with clients and on your website. Don’t say things that are untrue, even if you hope it to be true soon. Don’t exaggerate your experience or abilities.
- For example: Don’t say you have a ‘National Best Seller’ book when it was number #1 for a week online, in a very niche market, and only because you and others bought a lot to sell and give away at events or to clients. Words have energy and potential clients are not stupid.
It’s important to prioritize self-care so we can serve others from a place of balance and clarity. This may include setting healthy boundaries with clients, spending time in nature, practicing meditation or grounding techniques, and maintaining good sleep, hydration, and nutrition. Making time for hobbies, supportive relationships, and personal reflection can also help prevent burnout and keep us emotionally, mentally, and spiritually healthy. Ultimately, caring for ourselves allows us to better support and guide others.
Please avoid speaking negatively about another practitioner, even if a client brings up a bad or mediocre experience and you know their concerns are valid. Instead, express genuine empathy for what they went through and tell them your focus is on creating a positive and supportive experience moving forward. Clients come seeking guidance and healing, and that should remain the priority.
If you want to start a business or attract more clients to the one you have, do it in a way that feels manageable, authentic, and aligned with who you are. People who “hustle” almost nonstop only wear themselves out and miss the beautiful journey always looking for their next “success”. And for some people it’s never going to be enough; enough money, attention, accolades, material possessions, feeling special. Don’t be them, you deserve inner peace and self-esteem.

Advice for Growing Your Business Successfully
Narrow down your services and do what you love. It’s better to be great at one or two modalities then have an arsenal of services people don’t do with you. Reconsider offering classes or courses because you think they may be popular but don’t resonate with you.
Perform your services how it feels most right to you – and charge just a little above what feels like a good fee for you. If a few people over time don’t like a service afterwards that is okay. We cannot be a good fit for every human, and some people are hard to please. I never had one bad review in six years until 2020’s Covid and the political upheavel. People were scared and angry. Then I got a few bad reviews, almost all are fake ones from one person who was never a client of mine. I was shaken up up at first, but after a few days I sent them love through the Universe and let it go. Many reputable psychic mediums all over the U.S. have received a few fake or malicious reviews.
Reconsider making a new passive-income course or program, spending lots of money on a sketchy maybe. If you have an already established popular course/program for a few years then try to set it up yourself with research. Be selective, knowledgeable, but adaptable in what you try to do to grow your business.
Let go of the past. Know when to let something go or move on. Focus on building something one step at a time that brings you fulfillment rather than comparing yourself to others or feeling lack or discouragement that you should be farther along. Your season will come. In the meantime, foster your friendships, enjoy nature daily, start a hobby, take care of yourself and your home, practice taking nothing personal, and meditate more.
You can have a happy and rewarding journey in any New Age modality if you are realistic, adaptable, resilient, and take measured actions.
